So Many Ways to Support the Texas Bar Foundation: Pick the one that’s Right for YOU

We recognize that donating is a personal decision, and we want to ensure that your gift is meaningful to you. That’s why we offer many ways for you to support the crucial work of the Texas Bar Foundation. We gratefully accept all the following:

Online Giving

Are you ready to support the Texas Bar Foundation's mission right now? You can easily make a contribution online that will help to provide opportunities and protect justice.

Tribute Gift

Looking for a meaningful way to honor the legacy of a colleague, celebrate the achievements of a mentor, mark a milestone in your own practice, express sympathy to a bereaved family, or simply say “thank you” to a lawyer or client who made all the difference in your life or career? A tribute gift allows you to express important sentiments in a uniquely beneficial, lasting, and meaningful way. Your generosity will be recognized, and the Foundation will send an acknowledgment of your heartfelt gesture to the honoree or designated individual.

Matching Gifts

Interested in amplifying your impact? Many employers offer matching gift programs. Check with your employer or firm to see if they will match your gift to the Texas Bar Foundation. Matching gifts can also be applied toward your Fellows commitments, doubling the impact of your contribution. Campaign Funds

Are you looking to turn past campaign efforts into a lasting impact? If you have remaining campaign funds from a public office or political campaign, your campaign legacy could extend beyond the election cycle. Consider donating campaign funds to the Texas Bar Foundation. These funds can be applied toward your Fellows pledge, helping to continue our vital work in the legal community. For more information about Campaign Fund Giving contact Gabrielle Navarrette a gnavarrette@txbf.org.

Corporate Giving and Sponsorships

Looking to inspire a wave of community engagement? Partner with the Texas Bar Foundation through corporate sponsorship to demonstrate your support for our vital work while strengthening community ties with the legal profession. IRA Rollover

Are you aged 70½ or older? You can make a charitable contribution directly from your IRA to the Texas Bar Foundation through an IRA charitable rollover. If you're 72 or older, this transfer will also count toward your required minimum distribution. This gift is tax-free and does not count toward your taxable income, providing a substantial benefit to both you and the Foundation. Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $108,000 from your IRA to the Texas Bar Foundation for 2025.

Other Gifting Opportunities to Consider

Planned Giving

Want to create a lasting impact? Including the Texas Bar Foundation in your estate plan ensures our mission continues to thrive. Whether through a will, living trust, or codicil, you can contribute a specific gift or a percentage of your estate to support our work for years to come.

Cy Pres Awards

Are you involved in a class action case? Consider designating the Texas Bar Foundation as a recipient for Cy Pres awards when full distribution of settlement funds isn’t possible. We are proud to have received over $4 million in Cy Pres awards to support our mission, and we are grateful for every contribution in this area.

Donor Advised Funds

Interested in making a meaningful impact while enjoying tax benefits on your own best timing? A donor advised fund (DAF), is a relatively inexpensive way to create a charitable fund with a community foundation or similar sponsoring organization and get immediate tax deductions for your contributions when it best suits your tax planning. Donations to your preferred charities like the Texas Bar Foundation can be selected later and payment made by the DAF directly upon request under your DAF terms. If you have a DAF, we would appreciate being one of your selected charities. For more information about Donor Advised Fund Giving contact Baillie Milliken at bmilliken@txbf.org.
